Primary Election Day May 14, 2024
Maryland holds closed primaries which means that you can only vote for a candidate in your party. For those who are not affiliated with the democratic or republican party, you will only be able to vote the Board of Education race, as that race is non-partisan.

Step 1 - Check your Voter Registration
Look up your current registration record
Register to Vote
- April 23, 2024 is the deadline to register.
Make changes to your registration
- April 23, 2024 is the deadline to make changes to an existing voter registration record.
Same Day Voter Registration
- Maryland offers same day voter registration for new voters
- You must bring the appropriate documentation to a polling location during early voting or on primary election day
- Existing voters may not change their political party after April 23

Step 2 -Decide how to Vote
Request a Mail in Ballot
- We recommend that you request a paper mail in ballot
- Requests must be made by May 7, 2024
Vote In Person during Early Voting
- You may vote at any one of the 5 locations
- May 2- May 9, 2024 from 7am to 8pm daily
Vote In Person on Primary Election Day
- May 14, 2024 from 7am to 8pm
- You may only vote at your assigned location
- Your polling place can be found on your voter registration record

- Districts 1, 4 and 5 have more than 2 candidates and will appear on the primary ballot
